AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10 A OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, BY REPEALING SECTION 10 A -12, AND BY ADOPTING
FOR USE IN THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THE 1973 EDITION OF THE STANDARD
MECHANICAL CODE TOGETHER WITH THE 1975 REVISION THEREOF, DESIGNATING THE
WITHIN ORDINANCE AS SECTION 10 A -12 AND THE SECTIONS AND SUBSECTIONS OF
THE STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE TO BE INSERTED IN SECTION 10 A -12 AS NUMBERED
IN SAID STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, that Chapter 10 A of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Huntsville, Texas, is hereby amended by deleting the present Section 10 A-
12 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
Section 10 A -12 Mechanical Code, adopted.
There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of
Huntsville, Texas, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations
for Mechanical construction, alteration, installation, repair or use,
the Standard Mechanical Code published by the Southern Building Code
Congress International, Inc. 1973 Edition, together, with the 1975
revisions thereof, and all appendices thereof, of which not less than
three (3) copies have been and are now filed in the office of the City
Secretary of the City of Huntsville and the same is hereby ADOPTED and
INCORPORATED as fully as if set out at length herein, and the provisions
thereof shall be controlling in the construction, installation, repair
or any work done in or upon air - conditioning, heating and ventilation
equipment or systems, refrigeration systems, ducts and duct systems,
piping, incinerators and all electrical requirements pertaining thereto
when such work is done within the incorporated limits of the City of
Huntsville.
