AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE PLUMBING ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, BY AMENDING SECTION
22.2, 14.3.2 and 12.1.5 THEREOF BY ELIMINATING
THE PERMISSIBLE USE OF PLASTIC PIPING FOR GAS
PIPING, BY REQUIRING TWO WAY CLEAN OUTS FOR
SANITARY SEWER LINES, AND BY SETTING MINIMUM
STANDARDS FOR PLASTIC ABS OR PVC PIPING, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND BY OTHERWISE
FINDING THAT THE 1975 EDITION OF THE SUGGESTED
PLUMBING CODE PUBLISHED BY THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL
LEAGUE IS SUBSTANTIALLY IDENTICAL TO THE PRESENT
PLUMBING CODE OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
AND AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE 1975 EDITION OF
SUGGESTED PLUMBING CODE AS REFERENCE MATERIAL BY
CITY OFFICES BY MAKING NOTATIONS OF DIFFERENCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Huntsville, Texas, be amended so that hereafter the
following designated sections of said Chapter shall be amended
as hereinafter stated:
(14.3.2) is hereby amended to include the word "double "
in the first sentence of said section between the words "A "and "cleanout ".
Otherwise said section remains the same.
(22.2.1) is hereby amended to delete the word or
plastic" in the first sentence of said section. Otherwise, said
section remains the same.
(12.1.5) is hereby amended so that all plastic pipe
called for or allowed under said materials standards shall be
stamped "Schedule 40 ABS or PVC" and no other piping shall be
used.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE CITY
OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that the City Council has reviewed the present
plumbing ordinance of the City of Huntsville, Texas, and compared
same with the 1975 addition of the Texas Municipal League suggested
Plumbing Code and finds that the Plumbing Code of the City of
Huntsville, Texas, is identical in format and terminology except
for amendments previously adopted in the ordinance herein. That
printed copies of the 1969 edition of the Texas Municipal League
suggested Plumbing Code, the code actually heretofore adopted as
the City of Huntsville 'Plumbing Code, are no longer in print and
that therefore, officials of the City of Huntsville, may use for
reference copies of the 1975 Texas Municipal League Suggested
Plumbing Code by making notation in same of the changes or amend-
ments heretofore adopted in the official Plumbing Code of the

City of Huntsville; however, the Plumbing Code of the City of
Huntsville, Texas, as adopted and codified, and as amended from
time to time, shall remain the official publication of the
Plumbing Code of the City of Huntsville, Texas.
