ORD CC 11/14/72 - Gulf States ratesAN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE PASSED AUGUST 10, 1971, AUTHORIZING GULF STATES UTILITIES COMPANY TO BILL CUSTOMERS AT A GROSS MONTHLY RATE EQUAL TO THE PRESENT RATE (DESIGNATED NET MONTHLY RATE) PLUS ADJUSTMENTS, PLUS 10% OF THE FIRST $50.00 AND 2% OF ANY ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF THE MONTHLY BILL CALCULATED AT THE NET MONTHLY RATE, INCLUDING ADJUSTMENTS, BY REDUCING THE ADJUSTMENT TO THE NET MONTHLY RATE FROM 10% OF THE FIRST $50.00 TO 5% OF THE FIRST $50.00 AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE HERETOFORE PASSED ON AUGUST 10, 1971, BE AMENDED TO REDUCE THE ADJUSTMENTS AUTHORIZED GULF STATES UTILITIES COMPANY IN ARRIVING AT A GROSS MONTHLY RATE FOR BILLING TO CUSTOMERS SO THAT HEREAFTER SAID SECTION 1 OF SAID ORDINANCE SHALL READ AS FOLLOWS: (Section 1) That Gulf States Utilities Company is hereby authorized to charge for electric service billed customers on and after April 1, 1971, under all rate schedules now on file with the City of Huntsville, which service is not paid for within twenty days of the meter reading date, at a gross monthly rate equal to the present monthly rate (to be designated "Net Monthly Rate ") plus adjustments provided in present rate schedules, plus 5% of the first $50.00 and 2% of any additional amount of the monthly bill calculated at the net monthly rate including such existing adjustments. If service is paid for within twenty days of the meter reading date, the charge shall be the net monthly rate, plus such existing ad- justments, under the applicable schedules to effect the imposition of the described time price rate. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE SAID CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT THE RATE CHANGE HEREIN AUTHORIZED SHALL BE EFFECTIVE FROM AND AFTER THE PASSAGE OF THE WITHIN ORDINANCE.
