AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SPEED ZONES WHICH
SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATES ADDITIONAL AREAS IN
THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE IN WHICH RATES OF
SPEED OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR MORE
ARE AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING
THAT ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE
ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITYCOUNCIL-OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE:
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
relating to speed zones on US 190 in the City of Huntsville
are hereby rescinded, and the following are additional specifi-
cally designated areas in which a rate of speed of thirty (30)
miles per hour or more is authorized.
(a) .US 190, for traffic moving in an easterly
direction for the first 0.345 mile from the
intersection of US 75 and US 190 the speed
limit shall be thirty (30) miles per hour.
For the next 0.390 mile the speed limit
shall be thirty-five (35) miles per hour.
For the next 0.485 mile the speed limit
shall be forty-five (45) miles per hour.
Within the limits of said forty-five (45)
miles per hour speed zone beginning at a
point approximately 235' east of Colony
Road and ending approximately 750' east
of said beginning point, the speed limit
shall be thirty (10) miles per hour when
so signed for school crossing.

For the next 0.137 mile the speed limit
shall be fifty (50) miles per hour to the
east city limits of Huntsville.
For traffic moving in an westerly direction,
for the first 0.072 mile from the east city
limit of Huntsville the speed limit shall
be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next
0.550 mile the speed limit shall be forty -
five (45) miles per hour. Within the limits
of said forty -five (45) miles per hour speed
zone beginning at a point approximately 325'
west of Pines Street and ending approximately
750' west of said beginning point the speed
limit shall be thirty (30) miles per hour
when so signed for school crossing. For
the next 0.435 mile the speed limit shall
be thirty -five (35) miles per hour. For
the next 0.300 mile the speed limit shall
be thirty (30) miles per hour to the
intersection of US 75 and US 190.

the public necessitates immediate action, this Ordinance shall be
effective from and after the date of its passage as provided by the
Charter of the City of Huntsville.
