ORD CC 05/14/74 - Acceptance of BidsORDINANCE NO. 74 -7 AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, CONFIRMING THE ACCEPTANCE OF CERTAIN BIDS, FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIP- MENT AND DETERMINING A NECESSITY THAT PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF SUCH EQUIPMENT SHALL BE BY CERTIFICATE OF OBLIGATION, DETERMINING THAT NOTICE HAS BEEN PUBLISHED AS REQUIRED OF THE INTENTION TO ISSUE SUCH CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION, AND OTHERWISE CONFIRMING AND AUTHORIZ- ING THE METHOD OF PAYMENT FOR SUCH EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville has heretofore advertised and accepted bids for the purchase of Miscellaneous Radio Equipment including 21 mobile units, 1 base station, 4 remote desk sets, and 1 antenna and 38 Sanitation Containers to be used in connection with the City of Huntsville's Mobile Radio Operations and the City Sanitation Department; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville has heretofore officially determined that it would be in the best interest ofthe City to purchase said equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City of Huntsville confirms the accept- ance of bids submitted by Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. for miscellaneous Radio Equipment for a bid of $15,854.00 and a bid submitted by Scott Holman Company, Inc. for 38 Sanitation Containers for a bid of $9,360.00. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Huntsville determined that it would be in the best interest of the said City to pay for all of such equipment by equipment acquisition Certificates of Obligation and that notice of such intention has heretofore been published in the official newspaper of the City of Huntsville, The Huntsville Item, within the time and in the manner as required by law regarding said Sanitation Equipment, and by the Houston - Galveston Area Council in connection with the miscellaneous Radio Equipment as authorized by agreement between member cities of the Houston- Galveston Area Council; and that it is in the best interest of said City to pass legislation creating said Certificates of Obligation as an obligation of said City.
