AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SPEED ZONES WHICH SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATES
ADDITIONAL AREAS IN THE CITY OF ilantsville IN WHICH RATES OF
SPEED OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR MORE ARE AUTHORIZED;
RESCINDING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING THAT
ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE ACTION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF Baativilla
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating
to speed zones on State Highways in the City of Huntsville are
hereby rescinded, and the following are additional specifically
designated areas in which a rate of speed of thirty (30) miles per hour
or more is authorized:
(a) U.S. Highway 75, for traffic moving is both directions, for the
first 0.650 milelrom the West City Limit, the speed limit shall
be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed
limit .hall be forty-five (45) miles per hour. For the next 0.400
mile the speed limit shall be thirtrfive (35) miles per hour. For.
the nest 0.920 mile the speed limit Shall be thirty (30) miles per
hour. For the nest 0.350 mile the speed limit shell be thirty.five
(35) miles per hour. For the next 0.400 mile the speed limit shall
be forty (40) miles per hour. For the next 0.700 mile to the South
City Limit the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour.
(b) U.S. Highway 190, for traffic moving in both directions, for the
first 1.352 miles from the West City Limit the speed limit shall
be as shown above for U.S. Nishway 75, U.S. Highway 190 and U.S.
Highway 75 being concurrent over this route from the Nest City
Limit to the intersection of Avenue L and 13th Street.
U.S. 190, for traffic moving in both directions from the
Junction with U.S. Highway 75 (Intersection of Ilth Street and
Avenme L) for a distance of 0.300 mile the speed limit shall be
thirty (30) miles per hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed
limit shall be thirty-4km (35) miles per hour. For the next
0.379 mile to the Rest City Limit the speed limit shall be forty-
five (45) miles per hour.
(a) Stets Hishmay 19, for traffic moving in both directions, fros the
West City Limit for the first 0.060 mile, the speed Unit shell be
fortrfive (45) milts per hour. For the next 0.370 mile to the
intersection with U.S. Highway 73, Business Route, the speed limit
Shall be forty (40) miles per hour. Tor the next 0.444 mils, from
the intersection with U.S: Ni/my '75, Business Route, to the inter
section with Avenue L, the speed limit Shall be as soned above on

(43) miles per hour. For the nest 0.260 mile to the last City
Limit the speed limit shall be fifty (30) miles per hour.
(d) Farm- to*Xarket Load 247, for traffic moving to both directions,
from the junction with U.S. Highway 190 for the first 0.$46
mile, the sped limit shall be thirty (30) miles per hour. For
the next 0.030 mile to the forth City Limit, the speed limit
shall be fortyu.fiva (43) miles per hour.
(e) tart- to+)erket lead 1374, for traffic moving in both directions,
for the first 0.200 mile from the intersection with U.S. ligb•
way 73, the speed limit shall be thirty-five (33) miles per hour.
For the nest 0.400 mils to the South City Limit, the speed licit
shall he forty -fire (43) miles per boar.

SECTION II: WHEREAS, t e preservation of the general we of the
public necessitates immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective
from and after the date of its passage as provided by the Charter of the
