AMENDING SECTION 6 -1 OF ARTICLE 1 OF CHAPTER 6 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, ADOPTING NATIONAL BUILDING
CODE, ABBREVIATED EDITION, RECOMMENDED BY THE NATIONAL BOARD OF
FIRE UNDERWRITERS, PARTICULARLY THE 1955 EDITION AND AMENDMENTS
THROUGH 1963.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
Section 6 -1 of Chapter 6, Article 1 of Code of Ordinances,
City of Huntsville, Texas, shall hereafter read as follows:
SECTION 6 -1. Building Code -- Adopted.
There is hereby adopted by the City Council, for the purpose
of establishing rules and regulations for the construction,
alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use, and occupancy,
location and maintenance of buildings and structures, including
permits and penalties, that certain building code known as
National Building Code, Abbreviated Edition, Recommended by the
National Board of Fire Underwriters, being particularly the 1955
edition thereof with amendments thereto through the year 1963,
of which not less than 3 copies have been and now are filed in
the Office of the Clerk of the City, and the whole thereof,
save and except such portions as are clearly deleted in the
signed copies, are hereinafter changed or amended, and the same
is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at
length herein and the provisions thereof shall be controlling
in the construction of all buildings and other structures therein
contained within the corporate limits of the City.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
