An Ordinance of the City of Huntsville Prescribing
Bates and Charges for Local Exchange Telephone Service Furnished
by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company
iiEREAS, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has
appeared before the City Council and has shown that the rates
and charges for local exchange telephone service heretofore
prescribed have proved insufficient to afford acid Company
a fair return on the fair value of its property devoted to
furnishing local exchange telephone service in the Huntsville
telephone exchange, and
UHEREAS, the following schedule of rates will not
produce for said Company more than a fair return on the fair
value of its said property,
NOW, .THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF HIDITSVILLEs

(a) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and
one -half times the rate for one -party business
flat rate service.
(b) Minimum local message revenue guarantee equal,
to one -party business flat rate service.
Rates and charges for miscellaneous services and •
equipment shall remain as heretofore established
except as superseded by those rates and Charges
contained in the Schedule of Miscellaneous Rates
and Charges attached hereto and made a part hereof= --

provided, however, that Southwestern Sell 1 elephone
Company shall have the right to file from time to
time with the City Secretary different rates and
charges for such miscellaneous services and equip-
ment, such different rates and charges to become
effective 30 days after filing unless otherwise
ordered by the City Council.
Section 21 -All ordinances heretofore passed by
the City Council of the City of lluntsville establishing rates
and charges for telephone service (except the ordinance dated
December 4, 1956, establishing a base rate area) are hereby .
repealed effective with the establishment of the rates author -
ised in Section 1 above.
Section 31 Nothing in this ordinance contained
shall be oonstrued now or hereafter as limiting or modifying,
in any manner, the right and power of the city under the law
to regulate the rates and charges of Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company.
