Parade participants will begin staging starting at 4
p.m. in the area around 19th Street and Avenue
O. It is anticipated that parade participants will
utilize 19th Street from Sam Houston Avenue to
Normal Park; Avenue O from 19th to 17th Streets;
and 17th Street from Avenue O to Sam Houston
Avenue.
The actual parade route will start at 19th and Sam
Houston Avenue and travel north on Sam
Houston Avenue. At 11th Street, the parade will
turn west onto 11th Street and continue to
Highway 75. The parade will end in the parking lot
where Firestone, Iron Works Health Club, and
Sears are located.
Citizens should expect and plan for increased
traffic, road closures, and delays. HPD asks that
drivers please be patient and aware of
pedestrians, especially as it nears dusk. For
specific traffic/route questions, please call Lt. Jim
Barnes at 936-291-5496 or 936-291-5480. HPD
and the City of Huntsville do not handle
applications to participate in this parade. For
questions on participation or line up, please
contact HISD or SHSU.
