to a report of a
suspicious incident near
the intersection of FM

247 at Grivich Drive.
Upon investigation the
officers located the skeletal remains of an as yet
unidentified person.
Detectives from HPD were called to the scene
and, with the assistance of the Texas Rangers,
began a more in-depth investigation. Investigators
remained at the scene into the evening hours and
returned today to continue the investigation. The
incident is currently being investigated as a
homicide and efforts are being made to identify
the victim.
City of Huntsville Director of Public Safety Police
Chief Kevin Lunsford is requesting the
community's assistance in this investigation.
"We ask that anyone who has information
regarding this incident or is aware of a person
missing come forward," said Lunsford. We would
appreciate any information that can help in
identifying the victim or in the investigation of the
homicide."
