City Connection Stage 3 • General City News • Solid Waste& Recycling • Solid Waste& Recycling This Week in Huntsville CAMa Mandatory Outdoor Water Restrictions are still in place for the city of Huntsville. City well production is decreased due to continuous pumping. Right now only a very limited amount of water is coming from the Trinity River line causing the City to rely almost exclusively on well water. We need your help to ensure everyone continues to have enough water for all regular indoor activities. At this time, no outside water use is permitted. It is believed that the break was caused by soil support failure due to the recent heavy rains. Environmental issues and mechanical setbacks have delayed the repair to the leaking Raw Water Line. The leak is currently on schedule to be repaired at the end of this week or early next week. The Trinity River Authority had hoped the work would be done sooner but soil conditions are continuing to pose difficulties. The Tenaska power plant water supply has been shut off for the time being in response to City needs. Stage 3 restrictions are the highest level imposed citywide. Violations may result in citations or loss of water service. The City has reached out to major water users who have halted outdoor water usage but we are still facing difficulties with residential compliance. In order to maintain adequate levels to serve everyone's needs and be prepared in the event of an emergency, all outdoor watering needs to be discontinued until further notice.
