RESO 1980-29 - West BeltwayRESOLUTION NO. 80 -29
Recognizing that well planned and properly situated roads,
streets and highways are essential to the future orderly
growth of Huntsville and further recognizing that the
western areas of Huntsville are badly in need of such a
facility, the City of Huntsville acting herein by and
through its Mayor and City Council did at its regular
meeting on November 25, 1980 unanimously adopt the
following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Huntsville does
hereby express its support and approval for the
construction of a "West Beltway" whose location
is as follows:
COMMENCING at the Highway 75 underpass on Inter-
state Highway 45 North near the city airport;
THENCE in a southwesterly direction passing over
state Highway 30 West at FM 1791;
THENCE in a southeasterly direction passing over
FM 1374 at the northwest corner of the John
Beachamp Survey and continuing in a southeasterly
direction along its north line and crossing over
an adjoining survey to the northwest corner of
the William Barrett. Survey;
THENCE in an easterly direction along the north
line of the Barrett Survey departing its north-
east corner and crossing over an adjoining survey
in an easterly or northeasterly direction to an
intersection with Interstate Highway 45 South at
the Goree Unit TDC overpass.
