RESO 1983-20 - Chester PowellRESOLUTION NO 83-20
EREAS the manager of a local utility office is often times the
target of public ire and criticism, and
WHEREAS the job of managing a natural gas utility is especially
demanding, in that events which are often unique and even
hazardous are quite regularly taken for granted, and
WHEREAS the citizenry has accustomed itself to the convenience of a
steady supply of fuel, prompt, personal service and reasonable
prices due in part to the efforts of the local Entex manager who
has labored in the name of "keeping the blue flame going ", and
WHEREAS over the years, Mr. Chester Powell has managed to be amiable,
professional and thorough in both his presentations to City
Council and his efforts to provide gas service to "his"
customers, and
WHEREAS, as Mr. Powell marks his retirement from Entex it is only
fitting and proper that his community, through its City Council,
summon him once more to the Chambers for a final time as a
company representative to express our appreciation for a job well
done in the interest of his company, his community and humanity.
Many hot meals, dry clothes and warmed winter nights have been
made possible by the efforts of the man with the big smile and
his blue flame.

TEXAS, that
NR. CHESTER POWELL
