A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, SUSPENDING THE
OPERATION OF PROPOSED RATE SCHEDULES FILED BY GULF STATES
UTILITIES COMPANY FOR A PERIOD OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY (120)
DAYS BEYOND THE DATE ON WHICH SUCH SCHEDULES WOULD OTHERWISE
GO INTO EFFECT.
WHEREAS, Gulf States Utilities Company did, on May 28, 1982, file a
schedule of rates for electric service within the City of Huntsville,
Texas, to become effective July 2, 1982; and
WHEREAS, after having heard the presentation of Gulf States
Utilities Company, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of
Huntsville, Texas, that such schedule of rates should be suspended for a
period of 120 days from July 2, 1982, for further study, investigation,
presentation of evidence and public hearing; and
WHEREAS, a copy of this resolution has been provided Gulf States
Utilities Company prior to its consideration by the City of Huntsville,
Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
Section 1. Pursuant to Section 43(d) of the Public Utility Regulatory
Act, the operation of the Gulf States Utilities Company's proposed rate
schedules filed with the City of Huntsville, Texas, on May 28, 1982, is
hereby suspended for a period of 120 days from July 2, 1982, for further
study, investigation, presentation of evidence and public hearing.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
