A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, CREATING A TASK FORCE TO DETERMINE
THE BEST USE OF FINANCIAL AND PEOPLE RESOURCES
INTERESTED IN SISTER CITIES RELATIONSHIPS; AND MAKING
OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville has established an exchange relationship with the City of
Niiharu Village, Japan; and
WHEREAS it is in the best interest of the City of Huntsville to foster and encourage mutual
understanding, friendship and peace through communication by cultural, social,
educational and economic exchanges between the people of Huntsville and the
people of other communities; and
WHEREAS the City desires to determine the best use of financial and people resources in our
community regarding the establishment of such exchanges;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: There is hereby appointed a task force to study and recommend in a written report
to the City Council the best use of financial and people resources in our community
regarding the establishment of exchange program between the City of Huntsville and
other communities.
SECTION 2: The task force shall be composed of the following seven (7) members:
Steve Bullard Don Bumpass Ron Lange
Dorothy Shandera Ed Smith Clayton Waits
Rick McFarland
SECTION 3: The Director of General Services shall serve as the ex- officio secretary of the task
force.
SECTION 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately.
