A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, REVISING THE STRUCTURE OF
THE PARKS ADVISORY BOARD TO ADD THE PRESIDENT
OF SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY AS A MEMBER;
AND MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS the Huntsville City Council is aware and concerned about the recreational facility
needs of the citizens of the community of Huntsville and desires to devote the
necessary attention to the existing facilities to assure their continued optimum service
to the recreation of its citizens; and
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
the City Council created a Parks Advisory Board by Resolution No. 82 -6 and revised
it by Resolution No. 86 -2; and
the City now desires to revise those resolutions to add a permanent member from
Sam Houston State University;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
SECTION 1: The City Parks Advisory Board is expanded to nine members by the addition of the
President of Sam Houston State University or a designed representative of the
President as a voting member of the Board.

Any five (5) voting members of the Board present shall constitute a quorum to
conduct business.
The City's Planning Officer shall serve as ex officio secretary (nonvoting member)
of the Board and shall keep minutes, books, files and other records of the Board and
perform such other duties as are incidental to the office.
SECTION 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council.
