A RI3SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HIPCITSVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A TEXAS
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FUND; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE CITY'S EXECUTIVE OFFICER
AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING
TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS The City desires to develop a viable community for all citizens; and
WHEREAS Certain conditions exist which represent a threat to the public health and safety; and
WHEREAS It is necessary and in the best interests of the City to apply for funding under the
1997 Texas Community Development Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
SECTION 1: A Texas Community Development Program application is hereby authorized to be
filed on behalf of the City with the Texas Department of Housing and Community
Affairs and be placed in competition for funding under the Community Development
Project Fund;

The application will be for $350,000 of grant funds to carry out engineering,
administration, water and sanitary sewer system improvements;
The City Council directs and designates the City Manager as the City's Chief
Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection
with this application and the City's participation in the Texas Community
Development Program; and
SECTION 4: It is further stated that the City is committing $70,000 as a cash contribution toward
engineering, administration and/or water and sewer system improvements of this
project.
