RESOLUTION NO. 98 -18
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, SUSPENDING THE OPERATION OF
PROPOSED RATE SCHEDULES FILED BY ENTERGY GULF
STATES, INC. FOR AS PERIOD OF NINETY (90) DAYS
BEYOND THE DATE SUCH SCHEDULES WOULD
OTHERWISE GO INTO EFFECT; AND MAKING OTHER
PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
The City of Huntsville is a regulatory authority under the Public Utility Regulatory
Act (PURA) and has original jurisdiction over the rates of Entergy Gulf States, Inc.
(EGS); and
EGS on November 30, 1998, filed a statement of intent to increase rates effective
January 4, 1999; and
The schedule of rates proposed by EGS should be suspended for a period of ninety
(90) days from the effective date stated in EGS' Statement of Intent as initially filed
or hereafter revised, for further review and investigation;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
SECTION 1: The operation of the proposed rate schedules filed by EGS, on November 30, 1998,
is hereby suspended for a period of ninety (90) days from the proposed effective date
stated in EGS' statement of Intent as initially filed or hereafter revised, for further
review, investigation and public hearing.
SECTION 2: The City Secretary of the City of Huntsville is hereby directed to deliver a copy of
this Resolution to EGS.
