New City and Tourism Department
websites go live June 25 at 5 p.m.!
Happy 180th Birthday, Huntsville (July 12), you have a new web site available now! New looks
are here for both the City of Huntsville (www.huntsvilletx.gov) and the Tourism and Cultural Ser-
vices Department (www.huntsvilletexas.com). The web addresses have not changed, so keep
your main bookmarks! IT Director Chris Vasquez and staff teams have worked with CivicPlus to
create redesigned sites that will be more user-friendly and offer improved navigation to better
serve the citizens of Huntsville.
The City site retains features to allow online payment options, subscriptions to agendas and
publications, online reporting of issues, archived video, and a page of transparency links. The
Tourism Department’s site will spotlight local attractions and offer an online tour scheduler to
assist groups and travelers. The new website designs will allow each department to update con-
tent in real time, providing the public immediate access to the most current information.
After extensive research, the City chose CivicPlus for the redesign of the sites, a company fo-
cused on government clients, serving over 2,000 cities and counties of every size across the
United States, Canada, and Australia.
Happy birthday, Huntsville, visit your new web sites after 5 p.m. on June 25!

For most users, the mega menus that drop down from the headings on
the top part of the home page will be utilized most frequently.
The primary round buttons on each home page are highlighted in a smaller
format on each interior page
Be sure to look for specialty pages and
header photos throughout the new site!
The Stay Notified button brings a user to
the page above, to select subscriptions
and notifications, all in one place!
The Tourism and
Cultural Services
Department’s home
page highlights local
sites of interest, and
provides links to all
that Huntsville
has to offer!
The calendar page, right, gives in-
formation on local events, and
has links to submit events, re-
ceive notifications, and subscribe
to the calendar.
Trip Planner, left, has a new
look, and offers a four-day itiner-
ary of local museums, outdoor
activities, and more!
