Proc. 2011-19 Municipal Clerks Week 05-01-07-11PROCLAMATION Nth. 2011, 1-9 WHEREAS the Office of the Municipal Clerk, a time honored and vital part of local government exists throughout the world; and WHEREAS Municipal Clerks and Secretaries provide the professional link between citizens, local governing bodies, and other agencies of government; and WHEREAS the Municipal Clerk serves as the information center on functions of local government and community, and pledges to render equal service to all; and WHEREAS Municipal Clerks continually strive to improve through participation in education programs, seminars, and the annual meetings of their state, and international professional organizations; and WHEREAS May 1 through May 7, 2©11 is recognized as Municipal Clerks Week, and we extend appreciation to our City Secretary Lee Woodward and Deputy City Secretary Kristin Edwards, and to all Municipal Clerks for the vital services they perform and their exemplary dedication to the communities -they represent. NOW, THEREFORE, BE ITHEREBYPROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that: May 1.7 2011 be declared: "Municipal Clerks Week" in the City of Huntsville, and encourage all citizens join in celebrating the accomplishments of the City of Huntsville's City Secretary Division., PROCLAIMED AND SIGNED this the 3rd day of May 2011.
