RESO 2000-11 - Neighborhood USARESOLUTION NO. 2000 -11
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE CITY OF HOUSTON'S
EFFORT TO BRING THE NEIGHBORHOOD USA'S ANNUAL
CONFERENCE TO THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA IN 2002.
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville realizes that neighborhoods are the building blocks of our
society and supports the proactive activities that bolster their efforts; and
WHEREAS, the City ofHuntsville recognizes and supports the work ofNeighborhoods USA
(NUSA), a national neighborhoods advocacy group, that provides the knowledge and skills that
individuals and community organizations need to strengthen their base of support and build valuable
partnerships; and
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville supports the greater Houston area as a host for NUSA's
annual conference because of the tremendous growth and development that the area has experienced
in recent years and because of the area's commitment to neighborhoods.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
SECTION 1: The City of Huntsville supports the City of Houston's effort to bring NUSA's
annual conference to the greater Houston area in 2002.
PASSED AND APPROVED ON THIS 4TH DAY OF APRIL 2000.
