A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR THE HOUSING INFRASTRUCTURE FUND;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE CITY'S AUTHORIZED
REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S
PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, desires to develop decent
housing and a suitable living environment principally for persons of low/moderate income; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interest on the City of Huntsville, Texas, to apply
for funding under the 2001 Texas Community Development Program; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1:
1. That a Texas Community Development Program application for the Housing
Infrastructure Fund is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the City of Huntsville with the Texas
Department of Housing and Community Affairs;
2. That the City's application be considered for funding under the Housing Infrastructure
Fund.
3. That the application be for $400,000 of grant funds with the City receiving $350,000 to
carry out sanitary sewer and/or water improvements and receiving $50,000 as an administrative fee;
4. That the City Council directs and designates the City Manager as the City's Authorized
Representative to act in all matters in connection with this application and the City's participation
in the Texas Community Development Program;
5. That it further be stated in the application that the City of Huntsville shall inject a total
of $393,450 as follows: $153,900 in cash for water line improvements; $96,550 in cash for sewer
line improvements; $20,000 in cash for right-of-way acquisition; $113,100 of force account labor
for engineering; and $9,900 to waive tap fees.
SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its
passage.
