A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE PROPOSAL FOR A STATE VETERANS' HOME
IN HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Veterans' Land Board of the State of Texas issued a Request for
Proposals for donation of suitable land from interested communities and entities for the
location and establishment of up to two (2) Texas State Veterans' Homes; and
WHEREAS, a group of veterans in Huntsville, Texas desire to respond to the
Request for Proposals and have located a suitable tract of land; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to show its support for the location of a
Texas Veterans' home in Huntsville, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, that:
SECTION 1: The City Council supports the application of the City of Huntsville
to the Veterans' Land Board of the State of Texas for the construction of a Texas
Veterans' home in Huntsville, Texas.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective from and after the date of
its passage.
