RESOLUTION NO. 2003-12
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, ADOPTING THE 2003 PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN AND
LIST OF PRIORITY NEEDS FOR PARKS AND RECREATION DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Huntsville has authorized the preparation
of a parks and recreation master plan to inventory the park and recreation
facilities of the City;to identify and state goals and objectives for the
recreation programs for this City; to set out standards of improvement and
future development concepts;to provide for significant public
participation in the development of the plan; and to provide methods and
timetables for the implementation of a parks and recreation enhancement
program; and
WHEREAS, The accompanying plan and priority needs list has been completed by City
staff and significant public participation, following the instructions of the
City Council; and
WHEREAS, The accompanying plan and priority needs list were reviewed and
approved by City Council on May 20, 2003; and
WHEREAS, On June 19, 2003 the City received official written notification from the
Texas Parks & Wildlife Department that " all of the standard requirements
identified in the Texas Recreation and Parks Account Program Procedural
Guide have been met";
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas,
that:
SECTION 1: Upon recommendation of the City administrative staff, City Council has
found the Master Plan and the recommendations therein to be feasible, justifiable, and
necessary to adopt this plan as the plan of action for the development and maintenance of
park and recreation facilities in Huntsville, Texas, and hereby instruct the administrative
staff to adhere to this Master Plan as approved until such time as the City Council may
choose to amend or extend the Master Plan.
SECTION 2: This resolution ratifies and formalizes the May 20, 2003 City Council
approval of the Master Plan,
PASSED AND APPROVED this 15`h day of July 2003.

PUBLIC HEARING
On May 20, 2003, at 5:15 p.m. the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, will hold a public hearing to consider the Parks Master Plan. The
meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers located in City Hall, 1212
Avenue M, Huntsville, Texas. City Council will review and consider adoption
of the Parks Master Plan. For more information, or to view a copy of the
