AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, REDISTRICTING COUNCIL WARDS NOS. 1, 2, 3 AND 4 BY THE
ADDITION AND DELETION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES; REPEALING ORDINANCES
INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS Section 4.05 of the City Charter of the City of Huntsville provides
that Council may redistrict the City; and
WHEREAS it is necessary to include the newly annexed territory described
herein in a Council Ward;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
Section 1: Council Ward No. 1 is hereby redistricted by the addition of
certain property that is described as follows:
(See Exhibit "A" attached)
Section 2: Council Ward No. 2 is hereby redistricted by the addition of
certain property that is described as follows:
(See Exhibit "B" attached)
Section 3: Council Ward No. 3 is hereby redistricted by the addition of
certain property that is described as follows:
(See Exhibit "C" attached)
Section 4: Council Ward No. 4 is hereby redistricted by the addition of
certain property that is described as follows:
(See Exhibit "D" attached)
Section 5: Council Ward No. 4 is hereby redistricted by the deletion of
certain property that is described as follows:
(See Exhibit "E" attached)
Section 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms
of this ordinance are hereby repealed; provided, however, that such re-
peal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other
respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulat-
ing and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance.
Section 7: If any provision, section, exception, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of
same to any person or set of circumstances, shall for any reason be
held unconstitutional, void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
the validity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their
application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end
all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 8: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and
the City Secretary is hereby directed to publish the caption of this
ordinance at least once in the official newspaper of the City of
Huntsville.

BEGINNING at a point, said point being located on the common property
line of Texas Department of Corrections, and the R. B. Thomason tract
south of State Highway 75, said point being located in the present
City limits line as established by the Annexation of March 11, 1969;
THENCE South with said common line of Thomason and TDC to a point
on the south line of the W. Birdsell Survey, Abstract 6, said line
being also the north line of the P. Gray Survey, Abstract 24;
THENCE east to intersect with the present City limits as established
on March 11, 1969;
THENCE northwesterly with said City limits line to the Point of
Beginning.

BEGINNING at a point, said point being the most southerly corner of
the W. Thompson Estate tract as described in a deed recorded in Volume
137, Page 397, Walker County Deed Records;
THENCE southeasterly to the southwestern corner of the James Cox
Survey, Abstract 113, same being the northwest corner of the John
Hume Survey, Abstract 264;
THENCE southeasterly with the common line of the James Cox and John
Hume Surveys to a corner approximately 1000 feet in a westerly direc-
tion from the southeast corner of the James Cox Survey;
THENCE northeasterly along a line parallel to and 1000 feet from the
west right -of -way of FM 1374 to its point of intersection with the
present City limits line as described in the Annexation of March 11,
1969;
THENCE northwesterly with said City limits line to its intersection
with the south line of the Sam Houston State University (SHSU) property
as recorded in Volume 50, Page 145, Walker County Deed Records;
THENCE northwesterly and westerly along the line of said SHSU property
to its westernmost corner, said point being located in the eastern
line of the W. Thompson Estate tract as recorded in Volume 137, Page
397, Walker County Deed Records;
THENCE southwesterly with said Thompson Estate tract to the Point of
Beginning.

BEGINNING at a point where the existing City limits line as annexed the
8th day of May, 1973 intersects a point that is 1000 feet easterly at
right angles from the centerline of Highway 19 (Loop 405);
THENCE Southeasterly and southerly parallel to and 1000 feet Easterly
from the centerline of Highway 19 to its intersection with the center-
line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad track;
THENCE in a Northwesterly direction with said railroad track to the west
right-of-way line of Highway 19;
THENCE northerly with said Western right-of-way line to its intersection
with the present City limits line as established in the annexation of
October 14, 1980;
THENCE east to the east right-of-way line of Highway 19;
THENCE northerly with said City limits line and the east right-of-way

intersection with the West line of the James Tinsley Survey, Abstract
548, same being the east line of the E. Davids Survey, Abstract 157;
THENCE Southeasterly with the common line of the Tinsley and Davids
Surveys, to the Southeast corner of the E. Davids Survey;
THENCE West with the South line of said Davids Survey, also being the
