AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, SETTING THE DATE, TIME, AND
PLACE FOR TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES BY THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
SECRETARY TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC
HEARINGS; AND MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED THERETO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1: On the 9th day of October, 1984, at 7:00 P.M. in the City
Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Huntsville, Texas,
and also on the 16th day of October, 1984, at 8:00 P.M. in the City
Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Huntsville, Texas,
the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas will provide an
opportunity for all interested persons to be heard at two public
hearings on the proposed annexation of the following properties:
(See Exhibits attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes)
Section 2: The City of Huntsville, Texas, proposes to annex said tracts
under the procedures established by Texas Revised Civil Statute
article 970a, The Texas Municipal Annexation Act.
Section 3: The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish
notice of each of said public hearings once in the City's official
newspaper not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days
prior to that hearing.
Section 4: The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to provide
additional notice by certified mail to railroad companies serving the
City and on the City's tax roll where the right -of -way thereof is
included in the territory proposed to be annexed.
Section 5: The City Manager and the City's Planning Department are hereby
authorized and directed to prepare a service plan that provides for
the extension of municipal services into each area proposed to be
annexed. The proposed service plan shall be made available for
inspection and explanation by October 9, 1984.
Section 6: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage.
