AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING A COURTESY PARKING PERMIT SYSTEM.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
Section 1: Chapter 12, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas, is hereby amended
by the adoption of a new Sec. 12 -56 that shall read as follows:
Sec. 12 -56. Courtesy Parking Program.
(a) On application of any property owner /resident of the city,
the Chief of Police or his designee may issue a number of
permits to park in time restricted parking limit zones to be
valid for up to 48 hours upon a showing by the applicant that a
special event or convention will be held at a designated
location and that the expected parking requirements for said
event exceed available off street parking.
(b) The Police Chief shall issue permits authorizing the
person to park vehicles in parking limit zones restricted to two
hour parking, but the Chief may limit the streets or portions of
streets on which the permits shall be valid.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
adoption.
