ORD 1987-05 - Redistricting Wards #2 & #4 02-24-1987ORDINANCE NO. 87-5
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, REDISTRICTING COUNCIL WARDS NUMBERS 2 AND 4 BY THE
DELETION AND ADDITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES; AND PROVIDING
THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS Section 4.04 of the City Charter provides that City Council may
redistrict its four wards; and
WHEREAS it is necessary to change ward boundary lines in order to include
within Precinct 206 a suitable building available for use as a polling
place;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
Section 1: Council Ward Number Two is hereby redistricted by the deletion
of certain property that is described as follows:
EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER - REGION VI
Being 3.00 acres of land out of the J. Young Survey, Abstract No.
618, Walker County, Texas, said Young Survey being conveyed to W.
T. and H.Y. Robinson as the "SEVENTH" tract in a deed from Mrs.
Sallie E. Gibbs dated February 24, 1910, and recorded in Volume
32, Page 348, Deed Records of Walker County, Texas, said 3.00
acres of land being more definitely described by metes and bounds
as follows:
BEGINNING in the West right -of -way line of Farm Road No. 1374, 40
feet from and at a right angle to the present paved centerline,
at an iron rod for the Southeast corner of said 3.00 acre tract
herein described, said corner being N 24 - 21 - 26 E 1,511.43
feet from a concrete monument for the Southeast corner of said
Young Survey from which a sweetgum 30" dia. bears N 56 - 30 W
43.3 feet, a phone pole #4321 bears N. 56 - 30 W 13.9 feet, said
monument being 26.9 feet from the present paved centerline of
Farm Road No. 1374;
THENCE N 22 - 19 - 49 E 208.71 feet with said West right -of -way
line of Farm Road No. 1374 to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE N 67 - 40 - 11 W 626.13 feet to an iron rod for corner
from which a sweetgum 25" dia. bears S 36 - 47 E 21.9 feet, a
pine 15" dia. bears S 61 - 24 W 9.3 feet, an elm 7" dia. bears S
31 - 55 W 16.3 feet, and a double sweetgum 8" dia. bears N 41 -
43 E 17.6 feet;
THENCE S 22 19 - 49 W 208.71 feet to an iron rod for corner
from which a pine 24" dia. bears S 38 - 31 E 32.1 feet, a
sweetgum bears S 60 - 33 W 31.7 feet, and a pine 11" dia. bears N
19 - 14 E 15.2 feet;
THENCE S 67 - 40 - 11 E 626.13 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
Section 2: Council Ward Number Four is hereby redistricted by the addition
of certain property that is described as follows:
EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER - REGION VI
