AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE PORTION OF A STREET RUNNING PARALLEL WITH AND
ABOUT 350 FEET WEST OF AVENUE F /MARTIN LUTHER KING BOULEVARD BE VACATED,
ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
Upon receipt by the City of releases by all property owners adjacent to
that portion of a Street running parallel with and about 350 feet west of
Avenue F /Martin Luther King Boulevard between the north boundary of the
Charles D. Lynch 1 acre tract and the south boundary of the John Fowler 2 -acre
tract (about 1,550 feet), the same is and shall be closed, abandoned and
permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or
character whatever.
SECTION 2.
Upon receipt by the City of the releases by abutting property owners,
that the fee to the land in the above described portions of said street is
hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law, save
and except that easements are reserved for any and all existing utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.
