AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
AMENDING THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE EMPLOYEE HEALTH PLAN AND TRUST TO
INCLUDE THE HUNTSVILLE-WALKER COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE, AND
MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
Section 1: The City of Huntsville Employee Health Plan and Trust as adopted
by Ordinance 89-3 is hereby amended effective May 1, 1989 by
I. the substitution of the following for the definition of the term
"Employer" in ARTICLE II. DEFINITIONS:
2.08 Employer: shall mean the City, Huntsville-Walker County Emergency
Medical Service and any other entity which shall hereafter adopt the
Trust and the Plan of benefits connected therewith;
II. the substitution of the following for Section 501 b) of ARTICLE V.
ELIGIBILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATES:
b) During the continuance of this Plan, a person who becomes an Employee
after the Original Plan Effective Date will be eligible to enroll for
coverage hereunder as of the date he becomes an Employee, and his
coverage will become effective on the first day of the month thereafter,
subject to the Enrollment Requirements and to the following exception:
Any employee of Huntsville-Walker County Emergency Medical Service who
was eligible to enroll for coverage on May 1, 1989 will be covered under
the Plan as of such date, subject to the Enrollment Requirements.
Section 2: The Mayor, Councilmembers and City Manager are hereby authorized
to execute documents amending the plan to include the Huntsville Walker County
EMS.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage by City
Council.
