AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES UPON TACABLE P11HOPERTY LOCATED
s'TITHIN AND SUBJECT TO TEXATION IN TFLL; CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, INCLUDING A POLL TAX IN ABLE BODIED CITIZENS OVER
THE AGE OF 711ENTY - ONE YEARS, A111D NOT OVER SIXTY YEARS
OF AGE ON THE FIRST DAY -OF JANUARY, 1946 AND ALSO
INCLUDING OCCUPATION TAXES, AND DECLAIRING AN EIERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C UNCIL OF THE CITY OF HU. SVILLE IN COUNCIL
AS =7113 LED.
SECTION WEE: T'iat there is hereby levied, for the current year on all
real property tituated and all personal property owned within the limits
of said City-of Huntsville, Texas, on the first day of January 1946 except
so much as may be excepted under the constitution and laws of this
State or the United States, the Following taxes.
(1). An advalcrem tax of and at the rate of 50 cents on the One-
Hundred ($"100.00) Dollars cash Value thereof, estimated in lawful
currency of the United States for the current expenses for the support
and maintenance of the City Government of said City of Huntsville, Texas.
(2). An advalorer� tax n" and at the rate of 75 cents on the One
Hundred Dollars, x(100.00) cash value thereof estimated inlawful currency
of the United States, to ray current interest on and provide one Year's
sinking; fund and to pay x.11 of the principal and interest acci;ring on
all outstarding Warrants, sewerage, bonds, raving bonds, Funding 3 "Tarrants,
Sewer Extension, Improvement Bonds, and 17arrants, City Hall and fire
Station Warrants, and any and all other bonds and Warrants outstanding
therofore lawfully is>ued by the City of Huntsville, Texas, and which
are now valid outstanding obligations of the said City of Huntsville,
Texas.
(3). An annual advalorem tax of and at the rate of, 5' cents on
the One Hundred Dollars cash value thereof, estimated in lawful currency
of the United States, for the purpose of the sunnort and maintenance
of the Fire Department authorized by law at an election held thereunder
and the ordinance of the City of Huntsville, Texas.
(4). An occupation tqx on all person, fi,-ms and corporations doing
business within the City of Huntsville, Texas equal to one -half of that
provided by law for occupation tax due and sayable to the State of Texas,
and includinb all amendments of Article 70^7 of the Reused Statutes of
1925, and other amendments thereto.
(5). A poll tax of One (y1.00) Dollar on every inhabitant of Said
City of Huntsville, Texas over the age of Twenty?oone (21) years and not
over sixty (60) years of age in the first day of January.
^SECTION TNO : The above and foregoing ordinance was referred to the
Finance Committee on open Counc_1 at the Regular Recessed meeting of the
City Council held on the &_I-day of 1946.

was referred, have duly cons6deded the same, recommending that the said
foregoing ordinance, 1rrvyio.S taxes for the year of 1946, be adopted.
