AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE BOY SCOUT GROUNDS AND MUNICIPAL SWIMMING
POOL PARK PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF HUNTSVI LLE .
VdiEREAS , the

limits of the City
WHEREAS, the
City of Huntsville has acquired and now owns
incorporated and included within the limits herein -
zich property will be used for a municipal park and
it is desirable to include same within the corporate
of Huntsville, for policing purposes particularly; and
Robert A. Josey Lodge, Incorporated, the owner of
what is known as the Boy Scout grounds, same being the remainder
of the property included in the hereinafter described limits, has
petitioned and requested the City of Huntsville to include its said
properties within the corporate limits of the City of Huntsville;
and
WiIMEAS, the hereinafter described territory, which includes
and is made up of theabove mentioned two properties only, lies
adjacent and contiguous to the Southern corporate limits of the
City of Huntsville, and does not exceed in width one -half (1/2)
mile;
THERE'.FORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTSVILLE , TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That the following described territory adjoining the
limits of the City of Huntsville, Texas, to -wit:
BEGII,4NING at the intersection of the West line of State
Hihway No. 19 or U. S. Highway No. 75, with the divisional
line between the P. Gray League, Abstract No. 24, and the J. W.
Adams Survey, abstract No. 62, same being the present South
corporate line of the City of Huntsville;
THENCE West Tsith said league line and the South corporate
limits of the City of Huntsville ,to its intersection with the
West line of the College Farm Public Road;
THENCE in a Southerly direction with the West line of said
road, to a point directly opposite and across said College Farm
Public Road from the intersection of its Last line with the South
line of a road or street connecting said Colle --e Farm Road with
U.S. Highway No. 75, said road or street being that lying along and
adjacent to the South side of that part of the Scout grounds conveyed
by J. L. Pritchett and wife to Robert A. Josey Lodge by deed dated
June 13, 1935, recorded in Vol. 80, Page 352, of the stalker County
Deed Records;
THENCE East across said college farm road and continue Last
with the South line of the above mentioned road connecting same with
U. S. Highway No. 75, to a point directly opposite the Southwest
corner of a tract or parcel of land conveyed by R. F. O'Bannon to
S. H. Costilow by deed dated May 20, 1930, recorded in Vol. 67,
Page 410, of the Walker County Deed Records;
THENCE North across said road and continuing North with the
West line of said Costilow tract to its Northwest corner;
THENCE in an Easterly direction with the South boundary
line of the Lodge's property to the Southeast corner thereof, in
the i'Vest line of said U. S. Highway No. 75, or State Highway
No. 19, which corner is located and described as the Southwest
corner of the above mentioned tract of land conveyed by S. R.
Warner and wife, Grace Miller Warner to the Hobert A.
Josey Lodge by deed dated May 24, 1935, recorded in Vol. 80,
Page 349, of the Walker County Deed Records;
THENCE across said Highway to the Southwest corner of a
tract of land of 3 -1/2 acres, more or less, conveyed by Bettie
Carter and the heirs of John Porter, deceased, to the- City Cf
Hui ,sville and described in deed dated Z4 � day of X5�. ,
1937, recorded in Vol. 8� , Page ZY-4; of the '::Tall >er County

THENCE with the South line of said 3 -1/2 acre tract, uh.ich
isalso in the John Adams Survey, Abstract No. 62, to its
Southeast corner in "`rest line of the old Huntsville -Bath
public road;
THENCE in a Northerly direction with th- ;iest line of said
road to the Southeast corm -r of a 1/2 acre lot or tr-.ct of land
now owned by Heenan Carter;
THENCE Test %,iith Her-ranf s South line to his Southwest
corner;
THENCE North with his -.Vest line to his Northrest corner,
same being in the South line of the Bart Carter homestead tract;
THENCE with the North line of said 3 -1/2 acre tract -purchased
from Bettie Carter and of .)ers by the City of Huntsville, westward
to the point of intersection between said lire and the East line
of U. S. Highway No. 75 or State Highway Teo. 19;
THENCE in a Northerly direction with said Nast line of said
highway, to a point on the South line of the City Limits of the City
of Huntsville;
THE CE r +est across said Highway with the -resent corporate
line to the center of said highway, and thence in a southerly
direction :with said line to the place of BEGINNING; be annexed to,
and incorporated � ithin, the corporate limits of the City of
Huntsville, and that thenceforth said territory so annexed shall be
a part of said City and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to
all of the rights and privileges of other citizens of said
City and be bound by its acts and ordinances.
