BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF '.1CHE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS*-
SECTION 1. That the practice of going in end upon private
residences in t City of Huntsville, Texas, by solicitors, paddlers,
hawkers, itinerant merchants, itinerant photographers end transient
vendors of merchandise, not having been requested or invited so to do
by the owner or owners, occupant or occupants of said private residence,
for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goocia, wares and
wrchands3, and/or for the purpose of disposing of and/or peddling
of hawking the same, and/or for the purpose of making photographs
and/or taking orders for photographs, and/or for the purpose of
collecting and taking up clothing to be laundered, oleanod or pressed,
is hereby declared to be a nuisance (And. punishable as such nuisance
as a misdemeanor.
Provided that this ordinance shall not be construed to
affect or prohibit the solicitation of orders for, and tlie sale and
delivery of, agricultural products at private residences, where such
agricultural products sh-ull have been grown or produced in_ Walker
County or any County adjoining same,
SlUel OT I ON - 2- The City Marshal and p1lice force of the
City of Huntsvill�-,.-texas, are hereby required and directed to
suppress the same and to abate any such nuisance as is described in
the first section of this ordinance.
SECTION 3 Any person convictod of perpetrating a
nuisance as described and prohibited in Section 1 of this ordinance,
upon conviction thereof', shall be fined in a sun not leso then 010.00
nor more than 4200.00.
SECTION 4. In the event anything in this ordinance is
judicially TeTe—rrnTe to be unconstitutional, 911 other 13arts of this
ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
