AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 30, WATER AND SEWERS, OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
INCREASING THE TAPPING CHARGES FOR WATER AND SEWER
SERVICE; DECREASING THE RATE FOR RESIDENTIAL WATER SERVICE;
AND CHANGING THE CALCULATION FOR SEWER SERVICE PROVIDED
BY THE CITY; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS AND FINDINGS THERETO;
AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
SECTION 1: Title 30, Water and Sewers of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, Sections 30.01.02 "Water tapping charge" is hereby amended as follows:
Section 30.01.02 Water tapping charge.
A: The following charges shall be assessed and collected by the City of Huntsville
for water taps completed and installed by City crews:
1. Three - fourths -inch water tap $ 550.00
2. One -inch water tap $ 700.00
B: All water taps larger than 1" and /or special water connections completed by City
crews shall be made at actual cost.
C: The following charges shall be assessed and collected by the City of Huntsville
for water taps completed and installed by an entity other than the City prior to
the installation of a new meter at the location by City crews:
1. Three - fourths -inch meter set into an approved location $50.00
2. One -inch meter set into an approved location $100.00
3. Two -inch meter set into an approved location $400.00
D: Service connections provided by entities other than the City of Huntsville must
meet City of Huntsville construction standards and be inspected and approved
prior to installation of the meter.
SECTION 2: All ordinances that are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance be, and
the same are hereby, repealed and all other ordinances of the City not in conflict
with the provisions of this Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3: Should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or section of this Ordinance be
adjudged or held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not
affect the validity of this Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof,
other than the part so declared to be invalid, illegal or unconstitutional.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after the date of its
passage.
