ORD 2005-17 - Adopt EE Policies and Procedures 09-20-2005ORDINANCE 2005 -17
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, ADOPTING EMPLOYEE POLICIES AND
PROCEDURES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE; AND MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville has established the Employee Policies and Procedures to
serve as a clear policy statement, providing for the equitable treatment of
employees as well as the terms, conditions and benefits of the City of Huntsville
employment relationship; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville establishes policies and procedures to ensure its
compliance with the relevant municipal rules and State and Federal laws
concerning employment and conditions of employment; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is committed to maintaining its employment practices, and
thus subjects said practices to modification and development in order to be
responsive to changes in the employment population; and
WHEREAS the Personnel and Finance Committees of the City Council have reviewed the
recommended amendments as proposed by the City Manager and Director of
Administrative Services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
SECTION 1: The Employee Policies and Procedures attached hereto as Exhibit A are adopted,
replacing the Personnel Rules of the City of Huntsville, Texas.
SECTION 2: Ordinance 97 -07 adopted on February 25, 1997, is hereby repealed, being
replaced with the provisions and guidelines for employee benefit plan(s) as
outlined within the Employee Policies and Procedures.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
