Story Hour at the Library
The Huntsville Public Library hosts Story Hour every Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. at the library. This
complimentary program promotes emergent reading skills for young children. Story Hour includes
stories, songs, dance and finger plays and concludes with a craft activity. The theme for November
5th will be "Booking for Apples" with activities focused around apples and harvest fruits. For more

Family Movie Night Series
Huntsville Public Library in partnership with Texas Children's Health Plan is offering a free monthly
family night movie. November will feature a newly released animated film with a classic time traveling
duo on Thursday, November 6th at 5:30 PM. Stop by the library to pick up your free tickets for

Who Let the Dogs Out?.....at the library!
The Huntsville Public Library will host the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program sponsored by
the Huntsville Pets Helping People group on Monday afternoon, November 17th from 4:00-5:30 PM. The
R.E.A.D program improves children's reading skills by employing a powerful method, reading to a registered
therapy dog, in a relaxed, safe, non-judgmental environment. This program will continue every 3rd Monday of the
month. Registration is recommended. If your child would like the opportunity to participate in this program,

4th Annual Huntsville Public Library Art Contest
The Huntsville Public Library is proud to announce the 4th annual Library Art Contest supported by the Huntsville
Public Library Friends. The theme for this year's contest is "Oh, the places you can go". Students are
encouraged to submit creative illustrations of places that reading can take you, starting November 21St, 2014.

The winning art will be enlarged, framed, and displayed in the Children's Room of the Huntsville Public Library.
This contest is open to all children and teens 5-18 years of age. All entries must be delivered on 8 'h X 11 white
paper, along with an entry form, to the Huntsville Public Library by Friday January 9th, 2015 at 6:00 PM. Entry
forms are available at .myhuntsvilielibrary.com. Entries will be judged by a panel of community members
and 12 winners will be announced at the official Artwork Unveiling Ceremony on Saturday February 21st 2015.
Winning artwork will be exhibited in the Children's Room Art Gallery of the Huntsville Public Library for one year.
