Proclamation No. 2024-02
WHEREAS Sunday, March 10th, 2024, is the 103rd birthday of Bessie Mae Williams, born to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Haywood as part of a big family of ten children; and
WHEREAS Bessie has lived in Huntsville her whole life, and is known as the oldest resident in the Phelps community; and
WHEREAS Bessie attends and is an active member of the Pine Bluff Missionary Church in Huntsville; and
WHEREAS Ms. Williams is a strong independent woman that takes great pride in her daily appearance and enjoys being involved in strong debates; and
WHEREAS Bessie Mae Williams is in excellent health at 103 years old. She shares many recipes with her loved ones. This sweet, beautiful soul is loved by all who meet her.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Russell Humphrey, Mayor of Huntsville Texas, do hereby proclaim,
