WHEREAS Helen Jeanett Belcher came to work for the City of Huntsville on July 1, 1981 as a Clerk II and worked her way up through the ranks to her current position as the Planning and
Development Coordinator where she has served diligently for the last 4 years, 5 months and 9 days (but who’s counting); and
WHEREAS Helen has always been someone you could rely on for a job well done; no shabby stuff from her; she always goes above and beyond to see a project through; and
WHEREAS During the course of her career, Helen has wholeheartedly served on many boards and committees; To name a few, she was an active member of the Keep Huntsville Beautiful committee
(just ask her about “Trash Boy”, and the Planning and Zoning Commission, and many others throughout the years; and
WHEREAS Although we all wish Helen the very best in her retirement career, we are sad to see her leave us. Helen is a huge part of our “City Family” and she is going to be missed
by all; and
WHEREAS People like Helen are a rare find and we feel that we are very fortunate that she chose to make the City of Huntsville her home away from home for the past 25 years; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

in the City of Huntsville and urge all residents to join with us to give many thanks for truly amazing lady.
