WHEREAS, Jimmy and Mandy Spivey might just be the best kept secret in Walker County; and
WHEREAS, both came from large families, Jimmy with 23 siblings and Mandy with 12 siblings, they will tell you that they didn’t have a lot coming up and had to work for everything. The
Spivey’s are of the belief that their upbringing contributes largely to their outlook on community service; and
WHEREAS, they have both worked very hard for everything they have today; they have both gotten to where they want to be in life and they just want to give back to the community; and
WHEREAS, the husband and wife duo donate countless hours of their time making donations of time and money benefiting the community. There are few, if any, areas of the community that
their actions have not touched in a positive way; and
WHEREAS, the Spivey’s don’t wait for someone to tell them where help is needed. They take the initiative to look for a need in the community and then they find a way to fulfill it;
and
WHEREAS, their interests are largely youth centric. The Spivey’s believe strongly that the children are the future and they want to see Huntsville’s youth be the best that they can
be.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, that

Jimmy and Mandy Spivey Day
in Huntsville, Texas
