PROCLAMATION 2006- 09
WHEREAS, March 16, 2006, marks the ninetieth anniversary of the organization of the Mary Martin Elmore Scott Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; and
WHEREAS, the Daughters of the American Revolution are descendants of great patriots and founders of this great Nation; and
WHEREAS, the Daughters of the American Revolution have continued to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this memorable anniversary, and to the patriotic exercise that will commemorate the occasion;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as the
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, that
MARCH 16, 2006
be designated as:
MARY MARTIN ELMORE SCOTT, DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION DAY
in Huntsville, Texas, and all citizens are urged to recognize this event and participate in its observance. May we all be reverent as we remember the deeds of those who have gone before.
