PROCLAMATION 2005-02
WHEREAS Hattie Lou Reaves Pool was born on January 21, 1905 in Richards, Texas; and
WHEREAS Hattie married Clarance Evan Pool on September 15, 1928 and had three sons; and
WHEREAS In February 1989, Clarance passed away after being married to Hattie for 60 years. Even after his passing, Hattie continues to live a life full of love surrounded by her family
and friends; and
WHEREAS She has seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren with one on the way; and
WHEREAS Hattie is an active and faithful member of the Union Grove Baptist Church in Richards, Texas. She loves to sing in church and at surrounding churches where they hold Sunday
Night Sings; and
WHEREAS She loves to quilt. Many people have been kept warm by the quilts she has made through the years and by her loving compassionate spirit she gives freely to the community; and
WHEREAS Hattie likes to play 42 dominoes with her friends at the Bayes Chapel Community Center; and
WHEREAS She loves her role of Mom, Granny, and Great Granny. She truly is the matriarch of her family and blessings to all who know her;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:

be declared:
“HATTIE LOU POOL DAY”
in Huntsville, Texas.
