PROCLAMATION 2004-30
WHEREAS the number of elderly and disabled Americans is dramatically increasing, with more than 900,000 people residing in approximately 36,000 assisted living residences across the
nation; and
WHEREAS the National Center for Assisted Living proudly sponsors National Assisted Living Week 2004 in collaboration with the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging
and the Assisted Living Federation of America; and
WHEREAS the theme of National Assisted Living Week 2004 is “Caring For Our Heritage,” which provides us the opportunity to rediscover our ancestral lineage and celebrate those special
customs and traditions that have been forgotten through the generations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Huntsville that:

be proclaimed
“Assisted Living Week”
in the City of Huntsville. I encourage all citizens to visit friends and loved ones who reside at these facilities and to learn more about assisted living services and how they benefit
our community.
