29-colonial-herit-mo PROCLAMATION 2003-29 WHEREAS the month of October is designated as ‘Colonial Heritage Month’; and WHEREAS the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century lead in remembering the contributions of these gallant men and women who settled this great nation; and WHEREAS the founding fathers of our nation were zealous of high principles of virtue, of courage and of patriotism and have left us a wonderful legacy of history; and WHEREAS we as citizens must never forget the sacrifices and contributions made by these gallant and courageous early settlers; and WHEREAS the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century reminds us that the preservation of records, heraldry and the need to commemorate the noble and heroic deeds of these early men and women is important to every American; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville that The Month of October 2003 be proclaimed “COLONIAL HERITAGE MONTH” in the City of Huntsville. PROCLAIMED AND SIGNED on this the 6th day of October 2003. I urge all citizens to recognize the contributions of our Colonial Ancestors.
