19b-ts-allison-dayPROCLAMATION NO. 2002-19B WHEREAS disasters can occur at any time that require police, fire, emergency medical services, Red Cross, church organizations and other community members to work together to help the community; and WHEREAS when a disaster occurs the prompt response of police officers, fire fighters, emergency medical services personnel and other community agencies is critical to the protection and preservation of life and property and in helping with recovering from the emotional aftermath of a disaster; and WHEREAS all response teams are critical in coming to the aid and safety to the citizens of the community; and WHEREAS the response teams of Walker County, in the wake of Tropical Storm Allison, stood in readiness to our community; and WHEREAS in commemoration to all the police, fire, emergency medical services, Red Cross, church organizations, and community agencies in response to Tropical Storm Allison we salute you; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that: JUNE 8, 2002 be declared “THE COMMEMORATIVE DAY or ANNIVERSARY of TROPICAL STORM ALLISON” and that the citizens of Huntsville are asked to observe this day.
