WHEREAS Stacy Adaire Green resided in this fair city during her youth and formative years; and
WHEREAS From her base of operation at 224 Willowbend, Stacy and her cohorts in mayhem and merriment roamed the streets, ran the Forest Hills Pool and fueled the fire of academic and
extra curricula excellence; and
WHEREAS From this neighborhood sprang a tall, strong, bright beauty with a perpetual smile and the true grit necessary to propel her to eventually pass her driving test, excel in music,
serve as drum major of the Fighting Hornet Band, earn recognition in state competition as a member of the Mock Trial team, and become a member of the National Honor Society; and
WHEREAS This community and her family sent this favorite daughter off to pursue a distinguished collegiate career at the University of Texas where she was awarded BBA and MPA degrees
before accepting a position with the international accounting firm KPMG; and
WHEREAS After working as a Certified Public Accountant in Houston for two years, she transferred to the KPMG London office where she met Paul Hodgett, an equally talented, handsome
product of Shropshire, England and a graduate of New College in Telford and The University of Leeds in Yorkshire where he received a BA with honors in Economics; and
WHEREAS Paul demonstrated his brilliance by not only passing the Chartered Accountant examination, but by falling in love with Stacy and asking for her hand in marriage; and
WHEREAS An engagement was announced, a wedding planned and presided over by their minister-friend, Reverend Ron Sumter, who exercised watch-care over the spiritual and physical maturation
of a true daughter of the First Christian Church flock:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, and father of the beautiful bride, that Saturday, March 2, 2002, a date
celebrated by all Texans as Texas Independence Day, Sam Houston’s Birthday, and Texas Flag Day, be hereby observed as:
MR. AND MRS. PAUL TIMOTHY HODGETT DAY
in the City of Huntsville and urge all of those in observance of this signal occasion to join them in celebration of the beginning of their life together.
