PROCLAMATION NO. 2009-24
WHEREAS City Engineer Glenn Isbell has spent many decades of his life as an employee of the
City of Huntsville; and
WHEREAS Glenn began his career in public works as a teenager, going on to earn a degree in
civil engineering from Texas A&M University; and
WHEREAS From his first year as a City employee, Glenn worked toward locating, mapping and
recording the city’s pipe network specifically for public knowledge; and
WHEREAS Glenn played a pivotal role in the completion of several important projects including
the construction of Veterans Memorial Parkway; and
WHEREAS During his tenure at the City, more than 1,800 public works projects, studies, plans
and contracts have been completed; and
WHEREAS The City of Huntsville is an organization that values the service of our people.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
AUGUST 17. 2009
be declared:
“GLENN ISBELL DAY”
in the City of Huntsville and urge all residents to join with them in remembrance of
a fine citizen, engineer, employee and public servant.
