MINUTES OF THE HUNTSVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THE 13TH AND 14TH DAY OF AUGUST 2004 IN

Mayor Pro Tem Smith called the meeting to order.
BUDGET PLANNINGNVORK SESSION
The Salary and Benefits portions of the proposed FY 2004 -05 budget was presented by Winston Duke, Director of
Finance, and Danna Welter, City Secretary/Director of Human Resources.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The City Council conducted an executive session as authorized by Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Sections:
551.071 — consultation with counsel on legal matters; and 551.072 — deliberation regarding purchase, exchange, lease or
value of real property.

Budget requests were made by the following non -profit organizations: Huntsville's Promise (Scott Atnip and Dr. David
Prier); C.O.M.E. Center (Community Organization for Missionary Endeavors) (Georgia Elmer); Community Child Care Center
(Dr. Victoria Post); Senior Center of Walker County (Martha Blume); Rita B. Huff Humane Society (Karon Murff); New Life
Outreach (Dundra Hollins); Boys and Girls Club of Walker County (Cheryl Eschenfelder); Old Town Theatre (Gene Myrick);
Tri- County MHMR; Sam Houston Folk Festival (Dr. Patrick Nolan); Good Shepherd Mission; SAAFE HOUSE (Jolene Miller);
and Gibbs - Powell House (Dr. Carolina Crimm).
