Press Release - 5/12/2014 - City requests citizen photos Huntsville citizens – do you have any high-quality photos from City events or facilities? Want to show them off? The City of Huntsville is asking all residents, business owners and organizations to submit their best photos for use on our Facebook and Twitter accounts, in our digital newsletter entitled “This Week in Huntsville,” and maybe even for upcoming special projects. “We know our city has some very talented and artistic residents, and we want their work on display for the world to see,” Deputy City Secretary Kristin Edwards said. “With that in mind, we want to encourage local artists, residents, students and local business operators to submit their original photography – along with their names for photo credit – over the next several months. “It is our hope to use these photos not only to increase our social media presence, but to add a unique, human touch to future projects and publications.” The City requests participants send the highest resolution copies available, and that only material suitable for viewing by all ages be submitted. Digital photos of 20 MB or less may be submitted by email to kedwards@huntsvilletx.gov. Photos over 20 MB may be submitted by visiting dbinbox.com/kedwards, entering access code “3456” and submitting desired files. For photo credit, select “Send message” on the same page and include the date and time the photo was supplied, a brief description, as well as a name for photo credit. The City requests any hard copies be brought to City Hall, located at 1212 Avenue M. If necessary, hard copies will be scanned and returned to the provider. For more information, contact Edwards at (936) 291-5413.
