MINUTES OF THE HUNTSVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THE 16TH DAY OFAPRIL, 2002, IN THE CITY HALL,
LOCATED AT 1212 AVENUE M IN THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, COUNTY OF WALKER, TEXAS AT 5:15 P.M.

The Personnel Committee met to discuss the compensation and classification study with Victoria McGrath.

1. Mac Woodward. Mr. Woodward discussed the proposed transfer of control of the Oakwood Cemetery to the City and the
scheduled clean -up day.
2. Betty Maness. Ms. Maness voiced a complaint about the garbage fees charged by her landlord.
CONSENT AGENDA
1. Consider and approve minutes of the April 2, 2002, Council meeting.
2. Authorize the sale of trust properties to highest bidder.
3. Ratify the Consumer Price Index Adjustment to Municipal Telecommunications Right -of -Way Access Line Rates.

Authorize the City Manager to enter into Contract with Weisinger Water Well, Inc. of Conroe, Texas for maintenance
repairs to City Water Well No. 20 for the amount of $27,174.00 to be funded from line item `Wells, Tanks and Booster
Station Maintenance."

MAYORICITY MANAGER ACTIVITY REPORT
Program /Project Status:
a. Golf course update —the drainage system is completed; construction of the bunkers is underway; the well /pump is
in place; earthmoving is complete; greens and tees are about 75% complete; plans are to seed the first week of
May.
b. Brown water at Elkins Lake— plans are to flush every six months beginning on April 29; 43 flush valves have been
identified.
C. Police Department— no basis for allegations.
d. Trash pickup— Public Works has spearheaded the trash pickup to clean up the City, already collecting 1% tons of
trash.
e. Oakwood Cemetery — the lawsuit has been filed for the City to assume ownership;
f. Resource City Partnership with New Amsterdam, Guyana — a draft of a first report has been prepared.
