WHEREAS on this day we acknowledge the accomplishments and leadership of Rev. Kefentse Risher, Senior Pastor for Saint Paul United Methodist Church and Pleasant Grove United Methodist
Church for over three years.; and
WHEREAS he has demonstrated his commitment and love for his congregations and this community by his ministry and volunteer services; and
Recipient of NAACP Community Service Award from the Huntsville/Trinity Chapter.
Volunteer for Arise to Read Program at Huntsville Elementary School.
Volunteer at Stuff the Bus-Back to School Giveaway.
Partnered with the Houston Food Bank and Trinity River Food Bank to establish the St. Paul Church as a monthly food distribution site with church volunteers.
Student Mentor at Huntsville High School.
Organized two COVID Vaccination sites by utilizing volunteer medical staff from the community.
Supported the Roxie Douglas Learning Academy.
Sponsored two virtual COVID Informational Workshops.
Mentor/Counselor to Sam Houston State University students and supports their campus activities.
Panelist for John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Action Day 2021.
Participated in the 2021 Martin l. King Program/Community Celebration.
WHEREAS his tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated by his friends, neighbors, congregations, and community. And we lift him up in prayer and appreciation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that on this day we announce to the heavens and the community to be:

in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of this special individual and his service to our community.
